Italy; qualifying at EC-B 1/8 started (28/05/2009)

Serpent has a large share of drivers at this years euro championship. Many of them already with the Serpent 966. 35 out of 95 drivers with Serpent cars.
From Holland Jordy Blok (Serpent966/Mega/Xceed) is very fast this year in the National so lets see.
For Germany Schewiola Frank, Stark Jurgen and Jens, Toni Gruber and ofcourse Serpent fast lady Sabrina Lechner.
From France Abisset, Riccobono and van Poucke are all 3 very fast in France, so lets see.
From Italy Calce and Vadala are very quick and some local heroes too.
Ofcourse many good level drivers from other countries too enjoying...

After flying in from Perth on the Wednesday, I arrived to later have a very late night indeed. Going through all the gear that had been sent to where I was staying, and fitting the 966 upgrade kit to my 960-08. After a few hours sleep, we woke to some light rain, and clearing skies.

Jilles Groskamp to race Serpent onroad gascars
Jilles Groskamp from the Netherlands, famous for his electric rc car carreer for Tamiya nowadays, is also very fast with gascars.
He has proven this in the past by TQ-ing the World s for 1/10 and his direct qualifier for the 2009 Dutch 1/8 GP with Serpent 966 also shows his speed in gas-racing.
Jilles Groskamp already tested the production proto of the new 200mm gascar and will take part in the Turkish GP in Bursa. After that a lot of testwork and prepare for the euro-champs for 1/10 in Gubbio Italy in july. Jilles will be racing Serpent 7XX...
Romenia: Mega ZX-21 Buggy engine power wins (25/05/2009)

At a large buggy race in Romenia Mega ZX-21 Power was used by 2 drivers in the main final, with Mega ZX-21 Buggy winning the buggy race, driven by Ionescu and Shahin in 6th. Well done.

This week the EC 1/8 B will be staged at the race-track in Cassino. A beautifull track few hours from Rome.
SerpentEurope, Andreas Giesa already arrived last sunday, at the track for Serpent support. The Italian Serpent Distributor SprintRC will also be available for assistance and Calce Modelshop for spare parts.
On wednesday afternoon Serpent's factory staff Michael Salven and Stef Helvensteijn will also arrive for set-up and tech-support of all Serpent drivers.

SprintRC the Italian Serpent / Xceed distributor staged the 2009 version of the Sprint Trofeo.
Categories 1/8 in 2 classes, same for 1/10 and also the Classic car ( pancar 2wd)
Cristiani TQ-ed and won the 1/8 main final. The other results and pictures can be found below.

As you may know, the Florida Gas Onroad season is backwards from the rest of the world. We go from September thru April . A couple of weeks ago we had the final event of the season, called the “Sour Grapes”

This past weekend May 16, & 17, 2009 was the 1st Kamikaze Open Invitational sponsored by my father’s hobby store, Kamikaze Toys and Hobbies, at Crystal Park R/C Raceway, with drivers across the nation from California to Florida. Our own DJ Apolaro and Sean Lue came to visit my home track. We had beautiful weather and we reached the 120 persons entry limit.
