
The Serpent team are at this years 1/8th scale World Championships in Cordoba Argentina and the event has gotten off to a very good start for the team with the first 2 rounds of qualifying complete and seeing 2 Serpent 960s at the head of the field. Overnight pole position belongs to Italian racer Massimo Fantini who set a time of 33L 10:09.45 in his second round of qualifying to go quickest and improve on his first round time by 1 second. The fifth and final round of the French 1:10 200mm National Championship took place over the weekend and it was Serpent racer Arnaud Chaussard who TQ'd at the Reims track.
Driving his RB powered 720, Chaussard was joined on the grid for the Main Final of the Elite category by fellow Serpent drivers Arnaud Soulignac and Michaël Derderian.
In the 30-minte final Chaussard led the way until a mistake saw him use valuable seconds and drop to fourth. A superb recovery drive followed and he was able to climb back to second just 4 seconds a drift of eventual race winner Sébastien Wartelle. Making...

Serpent factory driver Mark Green is the 2007 BRCA British 1:8 National Champion. Green won the title perfectly by winning the 10th and penultimate round of the championship at Halifax over the weekend leading home a Serpent 960 1, 2.
Green, the winner of 7 of the championship encounters this year, TQ'd the event ahead of Serpent team-mates Tim Wood and outgoing champion Richard Hicklin who each have also recorded a win this season.
In the final, Green led from the start followed by Wood however the Round 5 winner would retire after just 6 laps due to a broken piston.

Team Austria have announced their line-up for the 2007 Serpent Nations Cup and the 2006 runners up have put together a very strong squad for the November 9-11th event.
Returning for their second appearance are Daniel Tomaschko and Gerhard Kandelhart. One of the stars of last year's event Tomaschko helped Team Austria to win Leg 2 of the event and to finish second in the overall ranking.

Last weekend Serpent, in co-operation with RC club MACH, staged a demo event in the paddock area of the Dutch A1GP race in Zandvoort.
The club laid out a nice simple track, with enough space to showcase the Serpent 720 and similar cars, and of course to demo the Serpent F180 1/8 scale formula car. The club did a perfect job, allowing the drivers to do a superb demo with close racing and we even had background music and a true speaker to make the commentary and promotions.

Aritz Tamayo, driving a Serpent 835 4WD, is the new 1:10 235mm Spanish Champion. Tamayo won the title at the final round of the championship at Valencia.
The Spanish 1:10 235mm Championship runs over four rounds a tracks across Spain and is noted as one of the country most friendly r/c competitions.

Per Ola Hard is the 2007 Swedish 1:10 200mm National Cup Champion. The Serpent team driver secured the title in the best way possible over the weekend with victory in the final round.
Racing at the fast Staffanstorp track in the south of the country, Hard's Mega powered Serpent 720 was working brilliantly allowing him to TQ for the all important grand finale.

The Luxembourg 1:8 National Championship was decided at the sixth and final round with Serpent 960 driver Dirk Rischard securing the title with victory in the Main Final.
Heading into the event three drivers still had a chance at becoming the 2007 Lux Champion. Having won two weeks earlier at the circuit, Rischard was in confident mood with his car working well in the sunny conditions that greeted competitors.

The final and title deciding round of the Belgian 235mm National Championships took place at the Roeselare track over the weekend with young star Toon Deyaerts and veteran racer Roger Capelleman in battle to become the 2007 Champion.
In qualifying Deyaerts held the advantage qualifying 2nd behind Top Qualifier Willy Wuyts while Capelleman posted the fourth fastest time.
In the final the on form Wuyts lead the way for the opening five minutes before he and Deyaerts touched allowing Leo Heremans to take over the lead.
