
One of the biggest events on the Chinese R/C race calendar took place over the weekend in Canton and it was Serpent driver Xu Qiliang who came away the victor.
The HK World Model team driver TQ'd his 720 for the prestigious 555 Cup and continued his qualifying pace in the final to take the win. Backing up Qiliang's fine performance fellow Serpent racer Shi Zuer finished third to give the 720 a podium double.

John Ermen made it two wins from two events over the weekend when he won the second round of the Dutch 1:8 National Championship at Rupchen.
Having won the opening race of the season at the same track last month, the Team Serpent Netherlands racers was again in top form.
Ermen used his Novarossi powered 960 to top qualifying for his second TQ position of the season before going on to claim his second win of the season over former Serpent team driver Rick Vrielijnck and extend his championship lead.

Young Italian Serpent 720 driver Alessio Mazzeo has won the European 'B' Championship for 1/10th touring, in Roeselare, Belgium at the weekend. The young driver, who had TQ'd the event by 6 seconds after an amazing Saturday morning run, took the win easily by 1 lap at the end of the 45 minute race.

As reported previously, young Italian racer Alessio Mazzeo was topping the time sheets at the European 'B' Championships in Roeselare, Belgium, with 1 round left to run on Saturday morning. Well on the Saturday, the Serpent 720 driver took advantage of the cooler on-track conditions to improve his time by 2 seconds to seal the top spot by 6 seconds ahead of Belgian racer Jerome Renaux in 2nd position.

Young Italian racer Alessio Mazzeo, driving a Max powered Serpent 720 is topping the timesheets after the first day of qualifying at this weeks European 'B' Championships held at the fast Roeselare track in Belgium. Alessio currently holds a 2.5 second advantage over second position racer Erik Dankel with Walti Beat in 3rd position overnight.

After a great first National encounter, the Mega powered Serpent drivers picked up where they left off as they went to the second round of the South African Championships at the big, fast track in Pretoria.
Pretoria is a tricky track with a long straight, which starts and finishes with big sweepers, but the infield is very tight, and the high altitude means a drop off in horsepower.
The 1:8th Class was a tight tussle between Hein Kotze, Wayne Joelson and Mike Wiseman, with Mike eventually taking the TQ by almost two seconds in the final round.

Youri Mestdag caught up with two young Serpent chargers during the final practice day for the 2007 EFRA European Championship 1:10 B which is taking place in Belgium this week and put 8 questions to the two Serpent 720 racers.

Well known for his talents in tuning fast engines, Karl-Heinz Meister is also a very capable racer and is currently racing in Belgium at the 2007 EFRA European Championship 1:10 B. Belgium's Robin D'Hondt, one of the sports up and coming young 1:8 stars, caught up with the KHM engine mistro at the Roeselare track for a quick chat.

Serpent's French distributor RB Products held their first 'Rider Cup' event over the weekend at the Mini Racing 79 circuit track where competitors enjoyed another of the great events we have to come to expect from RB.
While racing was the main item on the agenda at the sun soaked track, racers and their families were treated to the excellent hospitality of the local club and a number of on track demos including the first public running of the exciting new Serpent F180.

Mark Green had plenty of reason to smile at the latest round of the BRCA British National 1:8 Championship. Having dominated the opening round of the championship at Mendip the winner of the Pre Worlds was again the man to beat in Round 2 at Crystal Palace.
Driving his Mega powered 960, Green TQ'd for the event before going on the win the 30 minute final by a clear 2 lap margin over Neil Diver. Recording the fastest lap of the race with a time of 12:35, Mark's time broke the track record for 1:8 which previously stood at 12:44.
