Last week I took part in the EFRA 1/10 IC Championships for drivers over 40. My last EFRA race was already 10 years ago and I had been looking forward to this race all year.
I arrived at the track on tuesday afternoon and immediately felt the relaxed atmosphere. Lots of old friends I had not seen for years, and during the week I made quite a number of new ones. Fortunately I know the track quite well from previous years, and the recent resurfacing and upgrade work by hosting club RACO2000 has made the track fantastic to drive.
After I competed in my first EC 40+ 2 years ago, I took part again this year. Utrecht is only 50km from my home and I decided to give it a shot. I never regretted it, the week was great, people were relaxed, the club did an amazing job with the catering, and on Friday they even had a famous DJ on the track.
GLC has come to an end, what a great race as always. After some great racing, we were able to take home the win in 1/8th! 🏆🏆🏆Serpent/Sanwa/Protoform/ZAC/Arrowmax package worked really well.
"The 3rd round of 2018 Spanish Nats 1/8 On Road was held at Samil track, at nice Vigo town in the Northwest of the country with the organisation of CAVI Club from Vigo.
Very close times into qualifiers with a final TQ run for Carlos Peracho (Shepherd). Nacho Lopez (Serpent), Victor Gonzalez and Adrian Santeiro disputed the Super-Pole where Nacho was able to set the fastest lap to get a direct pass to A-Main starting in second position.
From Semi-Finals, Serpent Team Drivers Sergio Rivas Pikias, Alberto Alonso and Alvaro Fernández were able to get a place into the Main Final, puting 4 Serpent...
BRCA 1/10th National RD6 this weekend!! 1st in the A main.
I started 2nd on the grid after a mistake on my part in the last quali not getting the engine set right with the temperature change .
The main started, I followed the TQ man for a while although being faster at the start but held back with only being a few minutes in. After the 1st pitstop where I went 2 laps longer on fuel than the other guys at the front I came out still in 2nd, a wobble from the leader meant I could get past before a few laps later I would have a wobble myself and he would get back through. Literally after that...
This past weekend we attended the Florida state series “The Force Series” round one at Tripple Nickel Raceway
This weekend there was in Genk the last race for the Belgian championship.
There were still five title candidates under which two failed and Robin Dhont (Capricorn), Yves Zoma (new Mugen R) and Gunther Van Staey (Serpent) remained.
After some calculation with brackish results Robin could win and Gunther had to finish with the four first. With Yves, it was closer and had to end just behind him.
On Saturday it was a difficult training because there was a lot of dust on the circuit. The five-minute exit was not a problem at the time, as no fast lap times were made.
At the end of the day we could...
This past Saturday was the Serpent Challenge at WOCRC in Nee Florance, PA.
I have never been to the track but it was great, definitely a must go to track! The layout was tight and techincal which made for some great racing and you had to be in your toes to turn some fast laps! The hospitality of the Boring Family was great!!
Round 8 of the Chilean National IC Track Championship was hosted by the Aeromodelos de Chile club in Santiago de Chile.
In the 1/8th class Francisco Lara (Serpent/Picco) from Spain, after been out of the racing scene for eleven months, took the overall TQ, scoring a new track record of 22.151s in the process. From the tone Francisco took the lead while a huge battle for the 2nd place was going on between Alvaro Jara (Shepherd/Sonic), Matias Otaegui (Xray/Sonic) and Cristobal Herrera (Serpent/Picco). Later however Francisco ran into trouble as his car was loosing performance, allowing Alvaro,...
