Malaysia: Serpent 733 and 966 win on roof-top track (11/01/2012)

Sarawak, Malaysia : Serpent bags both 1/10 & 1/8 GP title.
Date: 8th January 2012.
A great way to start off 2012, as this new track was complete late 2011.
Track was one of a kind in Malaysia as it is built on top of a shopping Mall 5th floor and track surface cement with waterproofing applied.
Surface condition was tricky for all racers, and tire selection was vital.

Training
I started off with 2 different 411 cars to see which worked better as starting point.
We had 4 practise runs, run 1 with car 1, run 2 with car 2, and last 2 runs with 411 that felt best. In the 3rd run I was always in the top-3 which was excellent. Last run was worse result as I needed to run in a set of tyres and was 7th. Still good enough to start in the top-heat.

Q: Its great new to hear you will run with Serpent, racing the Cobra Buggy ; when will you start racing it ?
A: My very first Race will be "Italy Cup" @ IBR, Padova. The race will be held on 28th and 29th of January. Right now i'm testing the car in order to get ready to race.
Q: What do you like about the Serpent Cobra Buggy mostly ?
A: I think i like the feelings, the good traction, and mostly the lap times :-)
Q: Will you also run the Cobra Electric version ?
A: I think so, looks way too beautiful!

Luca Piromalli has decided to run the Serpent 966-Team Edition from now on.
He made a test at the track in Cassino recently and was very impressed with the speed and handling of the Serpent 966 -TE.
Luca Piromalli will join all main Italian races and the Euro's. Together with Mazzeo, Tedechi and more strong Italian drivers team Serpent is ready for 2012.

Located
closed to Venice, the IBR indoor permanent track offers warmed pit area and a nice indoor track. Despite of the date many top drivers attended the race as, Adam Drake, Robert Batlle, Eliot Boots, Reno Savoya and other stars. Everybody wanted to drive on this track builded by well known Joey Christensen who use to build the most impressive US tracks

Serpent team took part in the race without experience in US style tracks, but very confident.
From the first qualifications rounds, Serpent Cobra was really fast getting Alberto Garcia the 12th final place at Q1 Buggy, and 3rd place in Truggy class with the Serpent Cobra 811T.
Our Serpent team was working closely and we were able to improve the car every round, getting a perfect balance of speed and handling. The cold surface with big jumps required a good setup to be in the first positions.
