WC 1/8 onroad USA: 2 heats done, 2 more to go (13/04/2011)

The 1st 2 heats have been raced on wednesday, with last 2 groups not racing heta 2 due to rain. They are allowed to run today.
Heat 3 and 4 still to go. Due to the new tyres rules / discussions, only 4 heats instead of 6.
For Serpent its Morganti on 6, Salven on 12 ( his 1st heat was better, but car was underweight, as he fogot he lend his weight to team -mate Cristiani earlier), 19th supertalent Kyle Bransson and on 20 Mark Green. Other Serpent drivers also show good speed, but lack consistency in driving.
Sabrina Lechner, Serpent/Xceed female top-driver is in position 50 and expect...

WC 1/8 onroad USA free practise and timed practise is over and qualifying stats today.
After timed practise heats Serpent has 6 drivers in the top 20, with Morganti in 2nd position. The new WC parts for the 966 work very well, more info during this week.
We have some drivers which are lower ranked now but that will improve a lot like Kimbrow and Tanaka.

Round 6 of the FSORS series made the way to Mills Pond in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for another stop on the popular Florida series.
JP Tirronen running the Serpent Cobra buggy put his stamp on the 1/8th buggy pro class in qualifying by earning the TQ in rounds 2 and 3, taking the number 1 position leading into the mains.

Serpent 966 driver Lopez made a good podium finish in the 1st Spanish National.
Chasing the leader and later winner for most of the final, and always very close, but as Lopez himself mentioned, maybe too carefull and wanting to get many points anyway.

The 2011 IFMAR Worlds for 1/8 scale onroad are about to start.
7 april is the 1st day of practise, with finals being run on 17th of april, with a 1 hour long main final.

Q: How was the test you made in USA ?
A: The test sessions have being positive. The whole package is working good.
Q: Which qualifying result do you expect for the WC ?
A: I think to reach a semifinal position, like I did in Lostallo, is within reach. If I can do better than I will be very pleased. We will see.
Q: Do you like the WC track, and if yes why ?
A: I like the track because even if it is a board track it has some European flavor. Is a challenging from many aspects and the driver can make a difference...

Last weekend, in the fabulous track of Modelis/ Leiria, was held the first race of the Modelis / Serpent Trophy 2011 off Road.
With about 45 drivers, all the conditions were perfect to a very good weekend of racing, and some of the best Portuguese racers attended making a good show and a very competitive race.
After some rain during the week, the track was in very good conditions in Sunday, a very smooth and clean track during the qualifying sessions.
After a good dispute from the best racers in the qualifying sessions, it was Serpent 811 / Rodrigo Luis who take the Top Qualifier, only...

The WC will already start in a few days from now....:
Q: How was the test you made in USA ?
AC: The test was pretty good; laptimes were similar to the pre-worlds ones even if this doesnt mean so much..anyway the weather conditions were similar to the ones that we will find in a few days at the race, so this is a good point. Other top drivers were testing at that moment so i had also an opportunity to compare my performances with the others.
Q: Which qualifying result do you expect for the WC ?
AC: The direct semi-final would be fine
