Serpent Motorsport is pleased to announce its ‘Serpent Driver Development’ program.

Aware of the importance of encouraging young racing talents, the future of the sport, it has established the new program to support and develop the careers of r/c racing’s most promising young racers.

Under the ‘Serpent Driver Development’ (SDD) program four young drivers will receive factory support from the five-times World Champion manufacturer.

In addition to receiving the use of a Mega powered Serpent race chassis for the duration of the 2006 season, each driver will more importantly receive technical support direct from the factory and become a protégé of one of the sports top racers, Serpent’s chief designer Michael Salven.

The four young prospects who will form the 2006 Serpent Driver Development program are (in 1/8th) 19-year-old Spanish EFRA GP winner Oscar Cabezas, 16-year-old 2005 1:10 Winternats Champion Scotty Gray from America, promising 21-year-old German racer Sebastian Brixner and (in 1:10th) 13-year-old European 1:10 Junior Champion Kyle Branson from the United Kingdom.

Each driver has been awarded a 12-month contract with Serpent after which the Dutch competition car manufacturer has an option to continue to support individual drivers under the SDD program.

For Serpent Motorsport the ‘Serpent Driver Development’ program is a major undertaking, and one that will play an important role in the development of future signings for its World Championship factory race team.
