PODIUM FOR LOPEZ IN CUP OPENER (03/04/2006)

Complexo Desportivo de Radiomodelismo da Moita was the host circuit for the opening round of the 1/8th scale Portuguese Cup and a solid drive by Cláudio Lopes saw Team Serpent finish on the podium.

Attracting 17 drivers the event was greeted by sunny weather and produced some good racing. In total four Serpents made the main final. Initially Hugo Exposto, winner of the first semi, led the four-car Serpent challenge for race victory however a problem saw him fall back. Lopez took over that challenge and a consistent drive ensured a podium finish with fellow Serpent driver Luís Cortez finishing fourth while Exposto finished sixth.
