The first visit of the Serpent Nitro Tour to France may not have produced any races due to rain but the hospitality of hosts RB Products and the club at Carole more than made up for the disappointment.
Saturday's open practice took place in lovely conditions and as competitors arrived at the track on Sunday morning things looked set for a great day of racing.
The morning was set a side for free practice with five rounds of racing planned for the afternoon at the track which is situauted next to Paris' main airport.
With free practice completed, competitors where given the opportunity to see Serpent's exciting new F180 which was making its first public appearance. This was followed by a beautiful complimentary lunch laid on by our superb hosts and RB Products.
Unfortunately while competitors and their families sat down to lunch the weather broke and rain started to fall and with no let up there was little choice but to cancel racing.
This was such a shame not just for the competitors which included a number of drivers who had travelled from Belgium but also for all those involved in putting together the event in particular Eric Aita from RB.
The enthusiasm and hospitality of everyone involved in the French leg of the Serpent Nitro Tour was second to none and anyone travelling to the European 1/8th B Championships there later this month at Carole are sure to enjoy a superb event at this lovely circuit.
The Serpent Nitro Tour will return to France on June 25th when it travels to Bourg en Bresse.
