SPAIN CHAMP TAKES SERPENT TO MADRID VICTORY (17/05/2006)

Current 1/10th 200mm Spanish National Champion Diego Palacios gave his title defence a major boost when he took victory in Round 2 of the 2006 Championship which was held at the Parla track in Madrid recently.

Driving his 710, Diego qualified P1 as the only driver on 17 laps. In the race he took full advantage of pole to establish an early lead however an engine flame out saw him drop to 3rd. Regaining his focus, he set about catching the leaders who he in turn got passed to take victory by a margin of 10 seconds.

A great win for Diego and Serpent in a race which also saw two other 710s make the final. David Lopez and Israel Solis securing 4th and 5th positions respectively.
