Reigning Slovenian Serpent Series Junior Champion Nejc Mihelič got his 2006 campaign off to a perfect start by claiming overall victory in the opening round of the 2006 Series at Tolmin recently.

The event which attracted 23 drivers, enjoyed fine weather conditions for qualifying with Junior driver Luka Sajovic taking pole.

Heavy rain arrived for the finals with pole sitter Sajovic a casualty of the water which caused him electrical problems.  This left Mihelič to storm home to a superb victory ahead of Izidor Tratnik with another Junior driver Nejc Obid securing the final podium placing.

In the new 1/10th Serpent Series it was Boštjan Rener who took victory from Vladimir Knehtl in the final which was reduced to 15 minutes as a result of the heavy rain.
