Serpent 720 raced by Salven pole at Dutch GP (17/06/2006)

Serpent 720 pilots take first 5 places !

In the 5th and last run of qualifying Salven managed to take the provisional pole from Jilles Groskamp, both racing the brand- new Serpent 720. Salven almost got a 20-lapper in, but that will surely happen at the EC …
Also Kolff and Green pushed it oncemore to the limit in the last run and gained a few places to move directly into the final !!

Groskamp already set his fastest heat in the 2nd run. Groskamp ( multiple world-championship finalist in electrics) got his S720 car only on Thursday. After a week of practise in Italy for the WC in electrics , it was his turn now to show his ability with this new 1/10 nitro-car. He adapted very well and very quick. The Mega MF engine is very much to is liking, stable, smooth and very powerfull. Groskamp wll also race for Serpent/Mega at the 1/10 Worlds in Australia.

Richard Keur, Serpents sales-manager, managed an excellent 5th place , 1st on the grid for the semi-final with his S720 Mega-MasMo.

In total 7 drivers with S720 in its first official outing.

Remy Moller, a talented local driver pushed his Mega MF MasMo powered Serpent 710 to an excellent 8 place well done !!

Jacky Mouton Serpents French ace –driver is getting used to both the track and the new 720 car and got a good 9th spot.

Steven Cuypers an true 1/8 scale driver (EC-B Champion 2005) was also selected to race a new S720 car , but to get used to a different scale, a new car and a difficult track was a bit much, but still improving steadily. Through Sundays sub-finals he can gain some more track-time, lets see what will happen ;)

SDD (Serpent Development Driver) Kyle Bransson from te UK is doing well with a 22 place, we will see more of him in sundays subfinals.

Competition comes mainly from Vrielijnck, Johnson, Vassmar and Wartelle.

The weather at the Dutch GP is now fantastic. Also the forecast is looking good for the Sunday. The almost 70 drivers are having a great time, although the Heemstede track is not the easiest to cope with. Many are practising for the august 2006 EFRA EC 1/10.

The MACH club is doing a great job as always. The Saturday-night BBQ is well appreciated too.
