Serpent's new 720 made the perfect race debut when the car took the top four placings at the Dutch 1:10 EFRA Grand Prix.
The new car dominated the event, held at the MACH, with Michael Salven claiming pole for the 45 minute final in which he was joined by 5 other 720, two Serpent 710s and one car each from Kyosho and Mugen.
Leading from the start Salven looked set to convert his TQ into victory as he led a train of 720's but 23 minutes into the race he encountered radio trouble and was forced to retire.
In the end it was local star Julius Kolff who took the win from French Champion Jacky Mouton and UK driver Mark Green. Serpent Sales Manager Richard Keur secured fourth making it a 1, 2, 3, 4 result for the new 720.
Jilles Groskamp, who was forced into retirement while holding second as a result of accident damage, secured the fastest lap of the race.
Not many cars can boast such a successful debut - 6 cars in the final, Top 4 placings, pole and fastest lap.
With the 1:10th European Championships taking place at the MACH in August Team Serpent have high hopes for the event.
