This race was going to be very exciting for me as i had been given the opportunity to race the new 720 .The frist run with the car was on tuesday which was very hot 30+',not what i expected,to get used to the car and track i decided to run in engine's.
After the frist run i was amazed at how different the 720 is to drive, the 720 is just so easy, steering, brakes, also working on the car is much faster and easiser.
Wednesday was wet so no testing.
Thursday.
The start of testing with the 720,we tried various settings some good some bad,but what i found really good is even when i went the wrong way on set up i still could drive the car.
We had 5 rounds of qualifying,so a lot of time to still try things and learn as much as possible. The grip came up quite high.
So after the rounds ended we had 720 taking the top 5 places, with Michael Salven taking TQ just missing 20 laps by 2ths,Jilles Groskamp 2nd,Me in 3rd,and Julius Kolff 4th,Richard Keur 5th.
The final was going to be 45mins long.
We also had 8 serpent car in the final with 6 720 and 2 710 (still fast).
The race went very good i kept out of trouble,Except some self inflicted mistakes, but i drove as hard as possable and was just able to take 3rd place.
The finish order was,
1st Julius Kolff 720
2nd Jacky Mouton 720
3rd Mark Green 720
4th Richard Keur 720
The result for the 720 could not have been better, even with the short time we had the car it was fast.
I would kike to thank the MACH club for such a well run meeting and great hospitality and food.
