scotty's 1/10 scale sedan nats (26/06/2006)

Last weekend was the sedan nats, held in Compton, California.  It was a little different because we had a brand new car that we had never tested before.  The track layout looked really nice and flowing, but the track was really bumpy in three high speed parts.

Practice

The first time on the track the car showed us that it had more steering than the previous 710.  The track on the other hand was kind of hard to get use too.  The track lay out was really fun, but the bumps on the track really made it hard to find a good setup.  We ended up trying a locked front end, and it made the car more feel more predictable, and it was a little easier to drive.

Qualifying

Qualifying started off a little slow for me, but I ended qualifying 6th which is a pretty good position. There were three serpents that qualified for the main.  Chris was 2, Paolo was 4, and I qualified 6.  There was a lot of serpent in the semifinals that could bump up into the main.

Mains

The main started off bad for me.  I missed the start of the race because the plug died right before the start of the race.  So I started the race already one lap down. It took me some time but I made up a couple of spots.  And about half way through the race I got tangled up with another car going down the back straightaway, and ended up hitting the back straight way and breaking the rear end of the car.  It was too bad because my car was handling much better as the tires started to wear down.

It ended up being a very good weekend for the 720, Chris Tosolini won the race which was a great debut for the brand new car.

I would like to thank ROAR for putting on another great race. My mechanic Roniel, Paolo, and Gianni for all of the help, and all of my sponsors: serpent usa, mega, jaco, futaba, maxy’s fuel, parma, and xs power
