The fourth round of the Irish National Championships organised by RCCAOI took place at St. Anne’s Park in Dublin on the 2nd July and Team Serpent Ireland made the podium all their own.
The first national race since the opening round in April due to Rounds 3 and 4 being rained off, Team Serpent returned to championship action in style securing 2,3,4 & 7th positions on the grid for 1/8 Final.
Superb driving in the final by the young team line-up saw Serpent dominate proceedings with Dean Lacey, the current Irish Serpent Series Champion, taking the win ahead of team-mate and Round 1 winner Darragh Fox. Serpent Ireland's newest member Clive Connolly made a strong debut with his 960 to complete the podium in third.
A repeat of the 1/8th victory looked to be on the cards in the 1/10 class with Eoin Doran placed 2nd on the grid after a strong run in qualifying. Unfortunately in the final the former National Champion was forced into early retirement following a collision that was beyond his control.
Under the guidance of team manager Denis Fox, it is turning out to be a very strong season for Team Serpent Ireland with a 100% winning record in the 1/8th class.
