DALTON TOURING MASTER EVENT A BIG SUCCESS (12/07/2006)

Organised by Daltonshop in Indonesia, the 2006 Dalton Touring Master once again proved to be one of the most competitive events in the Asia.

Held at the Jakarta International Twin Circuit the successful event attracted 88 entries from Austria, Sweden, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

For Serpent the DTM marked the Asian debut of it's new 720 and the factory sent the car's chief design Rene Cornella to the event along with Sweden's Per Ola Hard to offer technical support.

The 720 continued to show its winning pace with Rene Cornella and Asian Team driver Suruth opening up a comfortable gap in the final as they swapped positions for the lead.  Unfortunately both drivers hit trouble with Suruth being forced into the wall when lapping another competitor.  Both drivers ended the 45 minute encounter in 5th and 8th position respectively.  Despite their misfortune onlookers were extremely impressed with the pace of the new 720 which also recorded the fastest lap of the race in the hands of Peter Wijaya.

In the 1/8th Final, Suruth took a convincing win over fellow 960 driver Alex Chan Hong Sing while Peter Wijaya,  driving a 1/8th car for only the third time, set the fastest lap of the race with his Mega powered 960.


A superb event, Serpent Motorsport were pleased to be associated with the DTM and congratulate all those involved in the running of it.  We look forward to 2007!!
