On the first weekend of July most of the top drivers from Sweden, Denmark and Norway gathered for a Nordic battle in Oslo (no drivers from Finland). Most of you guys who are familiar with the Virtual RC game have probably played this track once or twice. The track is located very nice up on a hill with a great view over the Olso fjord (the see going into Oslo city).
The track is pretty fun to drive with nice traction, for me the qualies was so so with my S-710 with a Mega MF engine (my last race with the S-710 car), later on I found a better setup. In the 1:10 200mm class Danish driver Martin Christensen got TQ with his Mugen. In the final it was Norwegian Frank Andersen who had a very good race, steady driving, no problems at all. So after 45 min of racing Frank Andersen with his S-710 car with Mega ZX power took the victory, well done! 2:nd was Swedish Roland Strom racing a Kyosho, 3:rd Christensen from Denmark with his Mugen and 4:th me Per-Ola Hard with my S-710 racer!
1:8 Track
In the 1:8 Track class, Danish Christensen got the pole with his Mugen. In the final it started off with a close battle between two Norwegians Stig Berntsen and Per-Henrik Kjolstad, later on Kjolstad had to retire with a broken gear, fast now was Swedish Markus Lindner with his Serpent 960 with a Nova engine. At the end of the final Markus was chasing Stig and after 191 laps and 45 minutes of racing it was local hero Stig Berntsen, Mugen, who took the victory well deserved some 3 seconds ahead of Markus with his Serpent 960, 3:rd was Lars Haugen from Norway with a Mugen.
Congratulations to all podium drivers!
Thanks to the Oslo club for hosting a nice race!
My next race will be the Dalton Touring Masters 2006 in Jakarta Indonesia!
Young Serpent superstar Micke Ek-Petersson from my club in Sweden drove very good and made it to the A-main. Super!!!!
