'Serpent Driver Development' racer Kyle Branson once again showed his potential when he qualified for the top final in the latest round of the BRCA British Touring Car Championship at Tibshelf over the weekend.
Making his debut with the new Serpent 720, Kyle posted the fifth fastest time in qualifying after a strong run in his third heat.
Finding time with each outing in the new 720, the 12-year-old was looking good for a strong showing in the final. Unfortunately in the warm-up his receiver packed in resulting in him missing the race start as his pitman (his dad) installed a new one.
Starting a number of laps down following the repair, Kyle was out of contention however he still showed he had the pace to race at the front setting the second fastest lap of the race behind eventual winner and current champion Darren Johnson. Kyle eventually finished 8th.
Kyle's next outing is the EFRA 1:10th European Championship at the MACH in the Netherlands from August 13 to 20.
