1/10 Super GT Serpent Series Results (27/07/2006)

John Anthony Russell

Round 4 of this NEW Serpent Series was held last weekend in Derbyshire at the very fast and flowing Tibshelf Circuit. This class is based on the 235mm 1/10 wide chassis with a Super GT bodyshell it is gaining NEW drivers throughout its first season.

The practice on Saturday was limited due to the heavy rain and thunderstorms. Some of the NEW drivers found the ‘Flat out’ banking a bit of a challenge to say the least.

Sunday started overcast but the sun came out and temperatures of nearly 30c were reached, causing some engine overheating problems.

Top Serpent Series qualifying position was taken by Bob Harley (still life in the OLD dog) with young Paul Dewsnap behind him! Glyn Beal took overall TQ over a lap in front of Bob.

The final result gave John Withington the maximum 100 points followed by Chris Daft and current Championship leader Phil Edwards in third place.

The Juniors in this class are having their own little battle with Michael Ruddock still leading dispite having a ‘Bad Day’ at Tibshelf. Karl Dransfield and Adam Lister took 1st and 2nd places in the B final to close the gap on Michael to just 8 points with 3 rounds still to go.

Next round will be on 3 September at Aldershot. The Final is now COMFIRMED and will be held at the NEC Birmingham as part of the Aurtosport Show on 13/14 January 2007, what a weekend away!! For more details email john.serpentcars@tesco.net

See you all at Aldershot
