Touring Car Serpent Series Results (27/07/2006)

By:
John Anthony Russell

Tibshelf race track in the heart of Derbyshire was the venue for Round 5 the penultimate round of the Serpent Series for 200mm Touring Cars. Saturdays practice was curtailed by thunder storms and heavy rain. Sunday Race Day was very hot with one or two showers.

The current championship leader Adam Catchpole was finding it hard to get a good setup for this very fast and flowing circuit, he could only manage to qualify in 9th place. The top Serpent Series qualifier was (back on form) Peter Watt with his Mega ZX12 powered 710.

With all the finals run the top Serpent Series points scorer for this round was that man Peter Watt taking a well earned 100 points. The overall results after Round 5 with the best 4 to count leaves Adam Catchpole with a reduced lead over Peter Watt and Mark Christopher both just 3 points behind!
