Friday report

The day started off with the last round of practice and saw some really fast laptimes from Salven, Ielasi, Bertin, Pietch all making laps between 15.1-2 seconds.

During the lunch break just before the start of the first out of four qualifications round the rain came to the track, bad luck as the whole week have been in great sunny weather. The first round rained out, only a few drivers did some racing in wet conditions. The 2:nd round for the day was postponed a little and the track started to dry again, the first heat started in semi-wet conditions, but the last heats from 9-12 was run in pretty dry conditions and laptimes dropped again to normal. If the track stays dry tomorrow this second round will count, but if the track is wet tomorrow this second round will not be counted as only a few heats was considered dry.

Heat number 12 saw some really fast drivers like Collari, Salven, Ielasi.
Michel Salven was initially on a really good pace, but got unlucky having Bertin spinning on the straight in front of him and Salven ran into him in full speed braking the whole car.

For the moment there is no real list of result as it all depends on the weather and if the 2:nd round will be counted or not. It is a big confusion on what heats to be counted or not, laptimes that are 20% slower that normal is to be considered as wet….

Up for discussion is also the wideness of bodies and how to measure it, as a lot of bodies becomes to wide even with or without side-stiffeners.

The day ended with the official opening ceremony, see also some pics from that!

Well we will have to see what happens tomorrow.

Let’s hope for dry conditions tomorrow as then all heats no matter what will be counted!

More to come…..
