1:8 on-road racing legend Rody Roem made an impressive return to racing over the weekend when he finished on the podium at the EFRA 40+ 1:8 European Championships at Bourg en Bresse, France.

Borrowing Michael Salven's Serpent 960 for the event, Rody qualified directly for the Main final after setting the 3rd fastest time in the heats.

Showing he has lost none of his speed the man behind RB Products just missed out on victory finishing just 2.8 seconds behind Eric Nougier at the end of 45-minutes of racing.

Rody was Serpent's first ever world champion, the Frenchman winning the 1985 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, ahead of the company's founder Peter Bervoets.
