Serpent Driver Development (SDD) racer Kyle Branson is the 2006 EFRA 1:10 European Junior Champion.  Entering the event as the reigning champion, having won the title in his home country last year at Halifax, the 12-year-old successfully defended his crown in The Netherlands over the weekend (19/20th August).

Held at the MACH circuit near Amsterdam, the 2006 on-road Euros attracted 145 competitors from 16 Nations and a strong run in qualifying placed the up and coming talent in a superb 45th overall.  Driving Serpent's new 720, Kyle made up two places despite the difficult wet race conditions to finish 43rd and top junior driver to claim his second consecutive European title.

Kyle is one of four young drivers from around the world to be selected by Serpent to join the Serpent Driver Development program.  SDD was established at the beginning of the year to support and develop the careers of r/c racing’s most promising young racers. A major undertaking for the Dutch competition car manufacturer, the program will play an important role in the development of future signings for its World Championship factory race team.

Next month Kyle will make his World Championship debut when he travels to Brisbane in Australia for the 2006 IFMAR 1:10 World Championships which runs from 7th to 17th September.
