As already predicted by the weather forecast the fourth day of the Worlds started with short showers earlier in the morning. During the morning the track dried up and some groups were able to run a practice session. Unluckily this came to a sudden end when new showers started some minutes ago.
As ususal in life, bad news for some people (the racers) is good news for others. The local people here in Brisbane are very happy with the rain as it has not been raining for four months now. So you could say that mother nature is 'screaming' for water as also the fire risk has risen the last days.
Let's wait and see if it will dry up again today and there will be some more racing. In the meantime we will keep you updated with other interesting news and stuff from the Worlds.
Latest fashion on the track: bring your laptop and watch some movies. Thanks to the wireless internet connection on the track we have access to the internet anywhere and anytime we want. Excellent service especially when it is raining.
Another fashion item on the track: real live dart-boards….

We will try to publish short interviews with all team Serpent racers during the whole week. Let's start with Jilles Groskamp who is a known face in the electric scene and racing this Worlds for team Serpent.
Interviewer: How are you doing today?
Jilles: Today is a very boring day because it is raining so we can not drive. I am very excited to drive but unluckily this is not possible yet. We made big changes on the car so this morning I was very disappointed when it started raining. But on the other hand we got more time to fix the body shells and other stuff so we don’t have so much stress.
Interviewer: How is racing until now?
Jilles: I have had some ups and downs. We have tested many different set-ups and it is going the wrong way. So yesterday we decided to start over again and begin with the basic set up we used when we came here.
Interviewer: How do you like the track?
Jilles: The track is very challenging. The layout is not so difficult but the bumps, the curbs and the camber changes in the track make it very difficult for both, the driver and the car.
Interviewer: Who is your biggest competitor?
Jilles: The track :-).
Interviewer: Who is going to win this Worlds?
Jilles: No comment. There are many drivers getting on pace so it’s going to be very, very tight. There is nobody really faster than the rest.
Interviewer: What are you going to eat tonight?
Jilles: It is depending on the other team members but my preference would be fast food this time.
Next we were able to have a short chat with Suruth Vataniyapramote, our team Serpent racer coming from Thailand.
Interviewer: How are you doing today?
Suruth: Today it is raining and we have got nothing to do so it is boring. I am fixing the body shells today and making a new set-up to fix the problem with the traction roll. We are waiting to test the new set-up tomorrow.
Interviewer: How is racing until now?
Suruth: So far it is ok for me. I can not go as fast as I want. I need to be careful because of the problem of traction roll. I am also not so experienced in racing with a solid axle. So I will try this tomorrow.
Interviewer: How do you like the track?
Suruth: The track is nice. It looks very easy to drive but I can not drive it very fast. This has to do with the set-up of the car. I am worried about the traction roll.
Interviewer: Who is your biggest competitor?
Suruth: There are a lot. Of course Michael, Jilles, Surikarn, Adrien, Chris… so a lot!
Interviewer: Who is going to win this Worlds?
Suruth: We hope any Serpent driver!
Interviewer: What are you going to eat tonight?
Suruth: We have Chinese food every day. We found good Chinese restaurants so we go out for it every day.
While some guys already headed off to the hotel, restaurant or the shops......some guys are still taking racing seriously and cutting hundreds of bodies (ok, maybe 3..).
