While most r/c racers focus their attentions on the IFMAR 1:10 200mm World Championship in Australia this weekend, elsewhere, competitors will be focusing on their respective Serpent Series.

Poland, Slovenia and Austria all host the final rounds of their Serpent Series this weekend while Hungary and Belgium run their penultimate rounds.

In the Polish Series, Łukasz Oleńczak and Marcin Kapkowski are seperated by only 4 points in the 1:8 standings so its still all to play for.  In 1:10, the top 3 of Wojciech Czerniawski, Lech Pepliński and Marcin Grochała are seperated by just 7 points.  The race takes place at Kłodzko which already hosted the 4th round of the six series.

In Slovenia the Tomlin track, which will host the 2007 1:8 European B Championships, is venue for their final Serpent Series race.  Izidor Tratnik leads the 1:8 Series there while Vladimir Knehtl tops the 1:10 standings.

One of this year's biggest Series, with 62 registered racers, Austria holds its fifth and final race at Lavanttal.  Nejc Marcic heads the 1:10 200mm standings but with the top seven covered by just 18 points the title race is still wide open.  Zsolt Horvath heads Gabor Laszlo by 2 points in the 235mm class while Franz Schinko leads the way in the 1:8 Series.

Pecs plays host to the sixth round of the Hungarian Serpent Series.  In 1:8 Gergő Timár, Viktor Juhász and András Kindl are covered by just 5 points at the top of the standings.  In 1:10 Péter Takács will be looking to continue his domination by going for his sixth straight win.

Belgium's 1:10 235mm Serpent Series travels to Rumst for its penultimate race.  To-date Bart Van Echelpoel has won all rounds but he will face tough competition from the likes of Luc Steylaerts, Willy Wuyts and Sébastuin Quintin.

Serpent will bring you reports from each of the Series races early next week.
