AUSTRIAN SERIES CHAMPIONS CROWNED (19/09/2006)

The final round of the Austrian Serpent Series took place in Lavanttal over the weekend where three new champions were crowned.

In the 1:8 Series Peter Hutter won the final round ahead of Series debutant Christian Perner but finishing sixth was enough for Franz Schinko to claim the title.

Nejc Marcic claimed victory in the 1:10 200mm class ahead of Ladislav Tovarek. The only driver to claim a double win in this year's Austrian Series, the result secured Marcic the title ahead of Tovarek.

In the 235mm class it was Serpent Series organiser Gerhard Binder (aka Bernie) who took the win ahead of Zsolt Horvath for whom second was enough to be crowned Champion.

Organised by Action Line, the 2006 Serpent Series was one of the biggest with 63 drivers registering points.
