VAN ECHELPOEL TAKES BELGIAN SERPENT SERIES TITLE (11/10/2006)

Bart Van Echelpoel is the 2006 Belgian 1/10 235mm Serpent Series Champion. The Wijnegem driver secured the title in fine style by winning the final round of the Series at the beatiful new Roeselare circuit.
Having won all of the previous 4 rounds of the Series, Van Echelpoel once again took the TQ position ahead of Luc Steylaerts.
In the final the pole sitter came under pressure from both Steylaerts and Willy Wuyts however both were to hit problems leaving Van Echelpoel to take the win and finish the season with a perfect score.
Attracting 15 drivers, the first running of the Belgian 1/10 235mm Serpent Series has proved very successful. Next year the Series plans to run to Serpent's New Porsche Cup regulations and already Serpent Benelux, organisers of the Series, have received a lot of interest from both existing and new competitors.
