What a year it has been for 13-year-old Kyle Branson from England!
Having come to the attention of Serpent in 2005 during the 1:10 European Championship at Halifax, the youngster was selected for Serpent's new Serpent Driver Development program which was created to help develop the talents of rc racing next generation of World Championship racers.
Having never raced outside his native country before being signed up as an SDD driver, Kyle was to experience a season that some racers can only dream of.
His first venture onto foreign asphalt was the Dutch 1:10 GP at Heemstede as preparation for the European Championships. This preparartion would stand to Kyle as he successfully defended his European Junior crown in the difficult wet conditions. From there it was on to Australia no less for the 2006 IFMAR 1:10 World Championships in Brisbane. Racing against the World's very best he did a superb job on his World Championship debut gaining valuable experience moving up a number of finals as he continues to develop his driving ability.
In between travelling across the world, Kyle used his 720/Mega combination to lift the BRCA Junior Championship for a third consecutive season and finished an excellent 6th in the overall standings.
While 1:10 was the main focus for 2006, Kyle also managed to fit in some 1:8 races with the Serpent 960 including a trip to the European B Championships in France to build up more racing experience.
While Kyle's name appears on both the European and British 1:10 Junior Champions Trophies his impressive season would not have been possible without the efforts of his dad Andy who did a fanastic job preparing his cars.
Serpent Motorsport are very proud to have been associated with Kyle and his dad and look forward to helping to build on the success in 2007.
