In our latest 'Racer in the Spotlight' column we catch up with new Serpent Driver Development signing Nam Sangjoon from Korea and put 10 questions to the young charger.

Interview:
Serpent - How did you become involved in the sport?
Nam - When I was 5 years old I began to drive RC car after my father who ran the RC Shop. Then at 7 years old I started to participated in RC racing and from that time I have been enjoying racing.
Serpent - How does it feel to be a member of the Serpent Driver Development program?
Nam - I am so proud to become a Serpent team driver, which I have dreamed since I started RC and I will do my best and not make team disappointed.
Serpent - What are your race plans for the coming season. Will you be racing in any major international events?
Nam - Although this year it will be a little bit difficult to participate all the races however from next year I will concentrate to participate all the races including IFMA, ISTC and SERPENT Nitro Tour, FEMCA Championship so on.
Serpent - What has been the highlight of your racing career to date for you?
Nam - First title that I won in 2006. was 1/8 GP on-road Korean Championship (KMRCA).
Serpent - Do you ever have days that you feel like giving up?
Nam - 3-4 years ago I thought I spent so much time on RC during weekend time, I thought that was waste of time, but I am waiting for the weekends now.
Serpent - Can you tell us a little about the rc racing scene in your country?
Nam - There are 5 onroad track and 3 off road track near by Seoul. There are always 2-3 races going on. And among them 1/10 scale racing is the most competitive class and the level of racing is quite high, close to world class.
Serpent - Which track in Korea would you most recommend to fellow racers as being worth a visit?
Nam - I want to recommend Kirina Circuit which is located near by Seoul. Course layout is perfect for 1/10, 1/8 nitro car and many users love this course. For 1/8 onroad driver I would like to recommend Suwon circuit but noise problems exist there.
Serpent - If you were not involved in rc racing what other sport do you think you would have pursued?
Nam - I would like to enjoy basketball or football with my friends.
Serpent - What element of the sport do you like most?
Nam - It is fascinating to have best result by making driving technich, machine quality and set-up unified.
Serpent - If you could change anything about the sport what would it be?
Nam - If somebody create the muffler having not much noise then GP race might be possible even in public places then more many people will have interested in RC.
