Serpent Driver Development racer Kyle Branson got his 2007 British 1:10 200mm National Championship campaign off to a strong start at Tibshelf yesterday by finishing a strong 4th in the opening round.

Driving his Mega powered Serpent 720, the  13-year-old reigning European Junior Champion qualified 6th fastest of the 80 car field to secure a spot in the all important A final.

Happy with the set-up on his car and performance of his Mega engine around the Tibshelf track, Kyle made the most of the combination to come home 4th to open his 2007 account with a healthy points balance.

The race was won by Kyle's mentor and Serpent Team driver Mark Green.

Kyle now has a two week break before the next National round which takes place at Mendip on April 22.
