New SDD signing Sangjoon TQs at Korean Nationals (16/05/2007)

New Serpent Driver Development signing Nam Sangjoon was the star of the Korean 1:8 National Championships which took place at the Kirina Circuit near Seoul last weekend.

Driving his Mega MF 9P powered Serpent 960 '07, 17-year-old Sangjoon was in superb form taking the TQ spot after rounds of 10 minute qualifying heats.

3. Namgoong, Wook (Serpent 960/MAX) - 37 Laps in 15.901


In the Final, which saw five 960 on the grid, the reigning champion was on target to retain his title leading the competitive field which included Japanese star Tanaka from the begining but at 25 minutes the SDD driver lost over a minute due to a problem with his battery connection.

Dropping back to fifth, Sangjoon set about a stunning recovery drive, setting the fastest lap of the race as he fought back to finish 2nd.
