Last weekend Irish Serpent 720 racer Niki Meredith tried out a rather unusual scale of racing when he got behind the wheel of 5/8th scale legend racecar.

Niki was racing the 1250cc Yamaha powered car, based on a 1934 Chevy Coupe, in the latest round of the British Legends Championship which was making its annual visit across the water to Ireland's 1:1 scale race circuit Mondello Park.

A former Irish karting champion, Niki had to start all six Legends races from 26th (last) due to it being his first appearance in the championship but he made good use of his local track knowledge to pull off some impressive overtaking.  His best result coming in the final race of the event when he passed half the field to finish in 13th position.

Niki, who only took up rc racing at the start of this year, will be back at the sticks of this Mega powered Serpent 720 this weekend at St. Annes track for the third round of the Irish National Championships.

Only Serpent are busy with a number of new projects such as the F180 and S400 a 5/8th could be an interested project for designers Michael Salven and Rene Cornella.  Niki says he would be the first to place an order for one!!!
