June 10th saw a healthy entry of 235mm cars running along side the 1:10 200mm IC touring car class at the impressive flowing multilevel track of the Cotswold club, situated on Kemble air field. Saturday and Sunday was blessed with glorious sunshine letting the 235mm cars show their true potential.

Glyn Beal took an impressive TQ spot with the hope of rescuing his championship title. Chasing him all day was 12-year-old Michael Ruddock.

At the start of the 30 minute A final Glyn had an engine cut and fell a couple of laps back, this allowed the pack to move away lead by young Serpent 835 racer Michael. He drove a superb final and kept a cool head on his young shoulders to keep Phil Edwards behind and take his first ever A final win by a very creditable 8 laps, his dad and mechanic were seen in the pit lane nervously watching and when Michael crossed the line he was jumping for joy!

So Glyn has been given a warning that the young driver is after his crown which makes the series one to watch for a close battle at the top.
