Serpent Driver Development team member Oscar Cabezas was in action in the latest 1:10 Spanish Nationals encounter at the Madrid track over the weekend where the young charger TQ'd and finished on the podium.

The reigning 1:8 National Champion, Oscar was using the event as preparation for the upcoming EFRA European 1:10 Championships which will be hosted by the Madrid track.

Attracting the maximium permitted 108 drivers, Oscar found himself in the 9th heat as he his a none ranked driver in 1:10 but that did not stop the Serpent 720 racer was securing the Top Qualifier spot by 3 seconds.

Unfortunatley a troubled start to the Main Final saw the SDD driver loss 2 laps and drop to 9th but with his Mega powered car working brilliantly he battled his way back up to second by the 20 minute mark of the race but with only 10 more minutes to run he was unable to close the gap to the leader.  Still an impressive result for the young Spaniard and one which will give him a big boost ahead of the Euros which are run in August.
