Clive Connolly became the first driver to score a double National win on Sunday when he took his Serpents to victory in both the 1:8 and 1:10 200mm A Finals at the third round of the Championships at St. Annes Park.

Driving his IDM powered 960 '08, the reigning 1:8 Champion ruled the day's proceedings securing the TQ before going on to win the final comfortably, setting the fastest lap of the race enroute.  Joining the Team Serpent Ireland driver on the podium was young charger Sean Doyle who armed with a new IDM engine for the event steered his 960 to his first National podium finish of the 2008 season.

In 1:10 200mm Connolly once again headed the Serpent challenge qualifying his 720 '08 second on the grid for the 30-minute A Final.  After an early battle with the pole sitter Eoin Doran, Connolly eventually got the upper hand and cruised to his first ever and Serpent's first of the season 1:10 200mm National win.  Also on the podium for Serpent was Chris Lawlor who steered his 720 to third for his second consecutive podium finish of the season.
