Mobers wins German 1/12 round with S120 (25/10/2009)

Serpent dominates first german 1/12 Nats qualifier

Last weekend it was time to open the west german 1/12 season. The race was held at the beautiful race arena Megadrom Geilenkirchen. All drivers entried in the very popular 10.5 category, including Serpents Markus Mobers, Corallys eurochamp Marc Fischer and eurofinalist Tim Altmann, who recently switched to the Serpent team.

In practice Markus already showed that his two wins at the EPS1 ( European Pan Series www.epsraces.net) were not just an one day act, he was outpacing Marc Fischer once again.

Tim Altmann was struggeling in the beginning, due to lack of experience with the S120. After some advice from Markus he was improving very much. He was very happy with his car after the end of the practice day.

Qualifying started early on Sunday morning, and it was a good morning for the Serpent team. Markus TQed the first round by a ¾ lap from Marc Fischer and Tim was not far away from Marc also.

After qualifying it even looked better, Markus was on pole and Tim could beat Marc and took the place beside Markus in the front row. Wow!

However, Marc did not run the finals anymore, seemed like he was struggeling with his setup, so it was a doublewin for Markus and Tim.
Markus set another new track record in the finals for 10.5 Stockspec. He ran a 14,28, which is only one tenth of the Modified track record.

Tim did really well in the finals, he was getting quicker and quicker, he is a person to watch out for in future.

The Serpent domination was completed by a 6th spot from young talent Benedict Ormans and the B-final win of Oliver Speith. (13 years)
