Paolo Morganti was in great shape in 1/8 scale class in Chaplin USA.
Morganti taking TQ honors with Serpent 966 ahead of DJ, Toso, Soto Jr, Burch, Schwauger, Tiskali, Lemieux and many other ace drivers.
In the final Morganti kept a very high pace with his Serpent 966-TE, only dropping few times to 2nd place after a fuel-stop, and creating a gap of 2 laps in the end of the hard harging Carpri's.
Qualifying was run over 3 heats only, as the Nats were rain effected. Key thing was to get the car dialed in quickly and Morganti and also Kimbrow managed to do just that. Also driver
The 966-TE was very fast with also Morganti doing laps below 13 sec a couple of times.
Kimbrow had bad luck in his fastest heat, when a dogbone snapped, otherwise a top-4 ranking would have been well possible, as laptimes were supergood too. In the semi-final Kimbrow managed to recover after a bad start from 9th to 4th place in the end, closing a gap of 4 laps. Impressive.
In the Masters class, Joaquin deSoto Sr performed really well and won the masters class in great style.
Morganti was 3rd in qualifying with Serpent 733-TE, very close behind Dj and Lemiex. Also Kimbrow was in the top-1- with Serpent .
In the final after the start Morganti fell back to 8th place and had some issues to sort out, but the gap was too big to move back to the top.
