EC 1/8 ofroad: Stephan Deroche 40+ Champion with Cobra (21/08/2012)

French ace driver Stephan Deroche racing the NR powered Serpent Cobra TE car, won the 40+ EC in Austria.

Congratulations to this well experienced driver.

He will also compete in the French Cup this week again.

Stéphane Deroch was pretty optimistic after the 5th round of qualification.

The first day of qualification, he didn't push too much (may be not enough) in order to get 3 clear runs, but in the second day, he was more confident and finished just a couple of seconds below the 9 laps barrier . That was a good perfomance in one hand, but Stéphane was so close to the best guys, he felt a bit disappointed about his performance.

Nevermind, he cruised and lead his 1/8 till the 2 last minutes, when the rain started : Stéphane which had medium compound which was crazy undrivable on the wet concrete.

In the two last laps he lost 3 postions and finished at the 4th spot which was really frustrating.

Nevermind, Stéphane cleaned his car and make it ready for the 40+ final. Just before the start he said : "The car is so fast, it doesn't even need a new set of tyres !"
It was enough to win the Over 40 final with a confortable 2 laps gap.

Cruising half of the 20 minutes, Stéphane make a 31 laps in 20'26", which would have been quite a good performance in the semi !
