This innovative NovaMega SX-12 SS 3-port engine, dominated both qualifying and the final of the 2003 Euro-champs (Michael Salven). The engine feature a new case for optimal flow, 11.5mm balanced crankshaft with turbo scoop, new size bearings, o-ring crankcase seal for carburetor-mounting, CNC machined piston and a special aerodynamic conrod with optimised lubrication grooves and a conical shaped combustion chamber for a better seal together with a conical NovaMega glowplug.

The huge popularity of the 200mm class all over the world has meant that the competition is getting tougher and each driver needs an extra edge over their competitors. With this in mind, NovaMega is proud to present this new 3-port 2.1cc engine that combines our Championship winning knowledge with the latest technology to keep you ahead of the field and fuel your need for speed.


Crankcase

The engine crankcase and heat sink head have been forged from high-grade aluminium and therefore is extremely strong and highly durable. The crankcase features many cooling ribs, aiding the cooling characteristics, lowering the risk of overheating and strengthening the case without compromising weight.
The additional machining inside the case optimises gas-flows and lubrication in the engine.


Bearings

With the 11.5mm crankshaft new bearings are fitted too.
In the front a new bearing (7x17x5) with more balls for better guidance of the crankshaft.
The rear bearings (11.5x21x5) is also a new high speed type for increased performance and crankshaft support.


Head and combustion Chamber

The purple anodised multi fin cooling head is made of an alloy similar to that of the cylinder sleeve, having the same characteristics to improve the construction. Comes with 'SS 5P-T' laser etched on the top face of the cooling head.

The combustion chamber is made of the finest quality alloy and is precision manufactured to ensure that the seal for this .12 engine is kept even under extreme temperature ranges. This coupled with the precision sealed conical (turbo)glow plug, fitted into the tapered plug hole, and you are ensured that consistent compression will be maintained.


Crankshaft

Presenting the large through-flow precision crankshaft now in 11.5mm size. The added dimension wil provide more rigidity to the crankshaft thus reducing vibrations.

The large bore intake through the crankshaft allows a continuous flow of the vaporized fuel/air mixture into the crankcase/cylinder. This is further optimised by the addition of a turbo scoop that forces fuel up into the combustion chamber.
The optimized timing of the crankshaft (check the shape of the crankshaft bell) is boosting power even further.
The hardened crankshaft and crankshaft pin are very durable and long-lasting.


Crankcase modification

The mounting slot for the carburetor features and extra groove to fit an o-ring below the carburetor for better sealing.

Piston & Conrod

CNC machined from high-grade aluminium this assembly is lightweight and durable.

The cylinder uses true ABC construction (aluminium piston, brass sleeve with chrome plating) for ultra–long usage with little or no wear.

The conrod is aerodynamic and lightweight therefore reducing resistance and allowing the piston to move faster. The conrod features a special aerodynamic shape, is extremely lightweight (machined grooves) and features optimized design for extra lubrication. The precision fitted bronze bushing will last a long time.


Sleeve

This 3 port high-density hard-chromed sleeve, offers incredible durability coupled with highly effective porting ensure that maximum revs are achieved as well as producing a wider power band.

The ports of the sleeve line-up perfectly with the ports in the crankcase.


Backplate

The aluminium crankcase backplate has one 0-ring groove for perfect sealing.

Comes in newly designed NovaMega box complete with full colour instructions, Parts list and NovaMega decals.
