The car that defined the class has been given a major re-design to enable it to keep at the head of the 200mm field. Featuring many new parts in the performance, handling and looks department, the Impulse is sure to be a winner.
The car that defined the nitro touring car class, has just been optimised for serious racers. More adjusting posibilities, lower weight, more high tech carbon... Here's the specifications, all it needs now is the driver to take it to the winners circle!
The first thing you will notice on the car is the beautifully manufactured woven carbon fibre radio plate. Materials, previously only used on its bigger brothers in the Serpent product line, have been borrowed to provide extra strength as well as ensuring optimal weight distribution. This material not only boosts performance but improves looks as well. As well as a new material the layout of the Radio plate has been changed to lower the centre of gravity and bring the weight of the car more to the centre especially when used in conjunction with the battery-set small (#801109). This will increase cornering speeds and speed up car response.
The front and rear of the car now feature woven carbon fibre shocktowers. Providing multiple shock mounting positions makes these pieces a valuable tuning feature that can allow you to dial your car into any track condition. As they are made from woven carbon fibre they not only look really good, they are ultra light and ultra strong and should withstand many heavy impacts.
Another item originally developed from its high tech big brother is the front axle with one way bearings. This replaces the gear diff and removes the 4 wheel braking on the standard car. This allows the car to be driven to the edge whilst staying stable on and off power and allowing faster cornering speeds to be achieved. An essential track racing upgrade to take you to the top.
Now as standard the front anti-roll bar makes the car very stable therefore reducing roll and allowing better grip and turn, going into, during and coming out of, the corner and it is adjustable which allows you, the user, a lot of control over the front handling characteristics of the car. This piece is competition developed and is essential for getting your car to peform on a variety of tracks.
Working in the same way as the front anti-roll bar, this makes the rear end of the car very stable during fast direction change and again allows the car to be taken to the edge in competition. Not adjustable.
With all that traction developed by the Pro´s features it is important that your wheels stay stable and therefore provide you with consistent handling. Replacing the plastic versions with these aluminium pieces ensures that the wheels stay true and free of vibrations. The wheel fixing system used is standard in this class which means you can use a host of different wheels on your Impulse.
Serpent selected foam tyres to connect our Impulse Pro to the tarmac. Providing excellent grip without the confusing choice of rubber tyres, these pre trued and glued tyres come on new stylish six spoke rims. Looks good and performs even better. The car will be sold with 30mm width rear wheels and 26mm width front wheels. Different sizes are also available to allow you to race under the different regulations. Rubber tyres can still be used if regulations require.
Because you want competition level power, you choose a rear exhaust engine. To fit this engine to the Impulse without compromising chassis stiffness we have included this Serpent purple anodised chassis stiffener and belt tensioner. Specially designed to work with RE engines this beautiful looking piece ensures that the rigidity of the Impulse is maintained.
