New key features

We have made a slight redesign to the chassis shape to enhance flex characteristics and improve handling. The rear section is now stiffer, achieved by eliminating the cut under the rear suspension arms and removing the weight hole beneath the engine.

Additionally, the new chassis features a second servo saver position, offering greater Ackermann adjustment options for even more precise steering performance.

They create more longitudinal, but also more torsional stiffness

General features

7075 T6 Aluminium 5mm chassis plate
The 5mm aluminum chassis features a perfectly symmetrical shape for balanced flex and even weight distribution. Its ultra-narrow design keeps it exceptionally lightweight, while still maintaining strength in critical areas for durability and performance.

The wire type front anti-roll bar is ball raced. It is easy to change and adjust due to the open front end design. The standard wire is 2.5mm and 2 optional thicknesses are available. The pivot ball link system directs the suspension movement to the bar and allows easy tweak adjustment.

The long durable front lower wishbones are the open-style arms similar to the 977. An aluminium shock mount plate is screwed onto the lower wishbone. This allows the shock attachment point to be placed further outwards improving shock motion. The front lower arms are mounted to the front brackets with nylon holders. The kit includes 2 versions: in and out.
Of course the 988 closed arms are usable as well

Upper arm pivot pin inserts feature a three-position design that allows for camber adjustment, secured in place by anodized aluminum top brackets. Below the top brackets, spacers can be added to modify the angle or height of the brackets. Caster is adjusted using clips on the upper pivot pins, which are also used on the lower pivot pins to easily change the wheelbase.

The black anodized aluminum front axle features Japan-made one-way bearings for smooth operation. Spring steel drive cups connect to the long, thin drive shafts via a CVD system. The ball-raced, hard-coated aluminium wheel axles are equipped with aluminum quick-change levers. The open front-end design allows for quick and effortless removal of the front axle and driveline components.

The centrally mounted servo saver enables quick and easy Ackermann adjustments. It features a top-mounted insert with three selectable positions, while the steering blocks provide an additional three Ackermann settings. The 990R model offers a more rearward, second position for the servo saver, providing an even broader setup range.

The narrow, solid rear axle in Serpent spring steel features a lightweight 48T, 9mm wide pulley. The CVD-type spring steel drive shafts connect the rear axle to the hard-coated aluminum wheel axles, which are equipped with aluminum quick-change levers. This results in a highly durable and long-lasting drivetrain.

The rear floating body mount which is mounted on the up-rights with 2 arms is centred by a carbon-fibre and steel guider. The mount has 4 positions on each side to choose from, depending on body shell used and traction available. The threaded holes on the end of the body mount give the option to add further body-supports.

a new setup possibilities are the right and left side stiffeners which connect the rear end to the radio plate mounts.

A small but detailed modification to the bushings for the front upper arm mounting brackets not only makes assembly much easier but also significantly improves caster accuracy. These bushings are fixed into their respective brackets and remain securely in place, simplifying setup adjustments of the upper arms.

The most noticeable update is the new fuel tank. In line with current trends of placing the battery underneath the tank.

We designed a spacious fuel tank that provides ample room beneath it to accommodate larger batteries, eliminating the need to raise the tank for battery installation.

More significant updates are in the rear. The new bulkheads are now easier to assemble, with the two rearmost screws much more accessible for quicker and more convenient maintenance.

We also reviewed the anti-roll bar mounts and developed a more precise solution that is significantly easier to assemble and disassemble.

The right-hand mount also serves a dual purpose as a brake pad support, enhancing functionality and convenience.

Another key enhancement is the development of a stiffer rear upper arm assembly. Now, you can upgrade to a second bracket behind the arm for a very rigid setup. However, we have retained the option to use the more flexible configuration of the 990 EVO, as we believe this provides better performance in low-grip conditions.

The insert in the rear uprights is now eccentric. Already available as an option for the 990 EVO, this feature lowers the roll center, providing increased grip and rotation.

Another upgrade to the uprights involves the toe-link brackets. While this feature was present in the first edition of the 990, the previous steps for adjusting the active toe were too large to be practical.

The new design features much smaller, more precise steps, while maintaining easy adjustability. This makes it a versatile setup tool, allowing quick on-the-fly adjustments even in the pit lane during practice.

Another enhancement is made to the 2-speed gearbox. The new one-piece shaft is proven to be highly reliable, but the key innovation is the additional groove for an extra clip between 1st and 2nd gear. This ensures the two ball bearings stay securely in place under all conditions and enables a friction-free one-way action, especially when 2nd gear is engaged.

We also took a good look at the bumper. We wanted to make it stiffer, but at the same time we wanted to be ably to use different carbon stiffeners and outward body supports.
