Serpent is pleased to announce their latest optional item for the Serpent 960. This low centre of gravity chassis set comprises of a number of items that lower the overall gravity of your 960 but also stiffen up the chassis.
First up, and the backbone of you car, is the chassis plate. Made from high grade aluminium, and anodized grey, this beautiful looking piece has a different design to the original and is machined on the top side around the engine to enable the motor to be lowered. The plate also sports an air intake directly below the engine for extra cooling and has been machined on the bottom side of the plate, under the steering system, for extra weight savings.
Also coming with the set is the new engine mono block that takes advantage of the extra space where the engine is mounted. As well as the benefits of the mono block system, to stop the engine flexing, the block allows the motor to be mounted lower in the chassis by 2mm.
The final piece to come with the set is the carbon filler plate, which is mounted on the underside of the chassis plate where it has been machined, to protect the front belt and steering system from stones and other large debris. Due to it being made from carbon, it adds very little weight to the already lightened chassis plate.
