Connolly takes Irish Championship title (23/09/2007)

Clive Connolly is the 2007 Irish 1:8 Onroad National Champion.  The 2006 Champion defended his title in style by winning the final race of the season yesterday at the St. Annes track beating fellow Serpent driver and main title rival Darragh Fox.


Starting from pole position Connolly took control of the race followed by Fox and stormed home to take his fourth win from six races to retain his National Championship title.


In 1:10 200mm, Eoin Doran took his Serpent 720 to a podium finish in the A Final after a great battle which say him pip new Irish Champion Steven Hayes to second position to claim his second consecutive podium finish in the ORCA run championship.


In the B Final, Rookie racer Robert Boylan finished off his debut season in the best way possible when he steered his Mega MF powered 720 to his first National Championship final victory.
