Team Serpent prepared for the EC (17/07/2009)

The preparations for the EC are mostly done, just a few more days to start the EC in Gubbio, Italy.
Around 15 drivers will run the 733 car in Gubbio, some of them are building the car now, or will get it this weekend ... lots of nice work ahead.
Michael Salven's 733 car had its last check thursday on the MACH track and its now ready for Italy.

Mark Green with Serpent 966 Tq-ed the last round of the UK nats 1/8 in sunny Brighton.
With 7 x 966 in the top 10 in qualifying, surely 966 is the way to go.
The top 10 after qualification were as follows:

Italy: 1/8 nats in Gubbio, good results with 966 (14/07/2009)

At the 2nd race of the Ita Nationals, Domanin qualified 4th with Serpent 966.
In the final Domanin finished in 2nd place, with an excellent fastest lap-time of 14.498, the 2nd fastest in the final. Only the track-record holder was faster.
Tedeschi and Calce with Serpent also made a superb race and finished 4th and 9th in this very tough Italian Championship.

With his Serpent 966 FLAVIO Elias Conquest his 5th Title of 1/8 On road Brazilian Championship.
Returning from the warm up in Lostallo directly to the wonderfull circuit Rodeo Drive in Rio de Janeiro .

The German Nats for 1.8 in Hildesheim were a wet affair partially, at least in qualifying.
Many top-drivers did not manage their normal performances and saw their efforts strand in 1/8, 1/4 or semi finals. Mack, Salven, Cuypers, Giesa just to name a few.
Still 4 drivers with Serpent 966 made it into the Main, with 13 year old Gruber a well deserved 3rd place on the podium. This also made him the Junior German Champion for 2009.
Robin d'Hondt, a Belgian Ace-driver, claimed the German title this year.
Michael Salven managed the fastest lap of the event with his Serpent 966 / Mega combination....

German 8th scale nationals in Hildesheim
We started our trip to Hildesheim on Tuesday, since the track was to be open for practice on Wednesday morning.
There was lots to do since I had just received my Max Power engines and had to break them in before the race would start.
Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the entire week looked anything but promising, which should turn out to be very precise for once..
In between rain showers we managed to get the engines broken in and together with my dad we managed to get a good set up on both our serpent 966.
The track itself didn’t give...

Hi Guys, I started practicing on Friday, the car was fast but not as consistent as I was looking for. So me and my mechanic worked some changes in the car until we found and excellent setup.
On Saturday, on the first round, I manage to set a new track record and I finish the rounds of qualys in TQ. Without a doubt, I had the best car. We spend the rest of the day helping other Serpent drivers.

In 5mins Qualify , the first run was out of fuel in 4min 28 sec , but already set the best lap time with 19 laps.
In the 3rd qualification I adjust engine to be able run full 5 mins , and set 22 lap with 5:12.809 which is track record of this layout.
