The first competition of the Italian championship 1/10 was in Mesero (milano).
111 drivers in 2 classes, with serpents, nt1 and
mugens. The track is very technical, slow, and very short. For me this was the 1st time at this track.
We ran 16/21 ratio and the largest 2-speed gears possible. In the expoert-class I ran 720 and also Umberto Gentile was fast.
In qualifying the pole was take by Tironi, followed by Duina, third Salemi and fourth Costanzo, a local pilot. I was in 8th due to some errors I made in the fastest heat of the day. My laptimes were fast enough to make 2nd or 3rd position...

Mark Green ( (966/Nova) took the win at the end of a very hard final with Salven (966/Mega) in 3rd position completing the podium.
Overall 5 Serpent 966 in the main final, already the top 4 qualifiers and then also John Ermen made a strong come-back in semi and was the 5th Serpent 966 on the grid.
The final started with a wet-damp track, making it necessary to start on aqua-foams or very soft tyres. For the 2nd part of the race the track dried up .

Mark Green (UK) with Serpent 966 took pole position just ahead of Salven ( 966/Mega), then young promise Jordy Blok ( 966/Mega)and 4th Jilles Groskamp ( 966/Mega).
The Serpent 966 had the edge in qualifying. Very stable and fast, easy to run same times lap after lap.
Jordy Blok recorded the fastest straight line top speed with his Mega ZX powered 966 with 112,5 km/h. Awesome !
Excellent qualifiers during very nice weather conditions. The Heemstede track remains a challenge with some very fast and some technical tricky parts too.
Vrielinck, Vanni, Cuyers, d'Hondt, van Gastel, Mack,...

Round 2 of the BRCA nationals in Mendip was run to EFRA style with bump-ups and a 45 minute final.
Saturday was damp in the morning due to rain Friday night, the track wasnt really that good until 3:00 and still wasnt to good then. The car was quite good anyway, and we tryed a couple of engines.

Gruber TQ-ed and won the east Series Race in Germany with Serpent 966, Powered by mega DSIII.
Excellent result.
Only driver with 18 laps and almost a second per lap faster.
In the final Gruber managed an 11 lap lead and raced to victory. His Serpent Team-mate Holger Ritter came in 2nd place, so nice podium finish too.
For Gruber his 3rd win in a row.
More talented Serpent drivers need to be developed to challenge Gruber for next season.
Team Serpent

In Qualifying Gruber made the 2nd qualifying time with his Max Powered Serpent 720 in a strong field of 23 drivers.
In the final he lost 3 laps due to a technical issue, but managed 3rd place on the podium anyway.
Great driving !
Still leading the German-east championship both ion 1.10 and 1/8 scale.

Report from our New Zealand friends:
We ran the 966 for the first time yesterday at our local track, I TQ'd in fact I was only driver to post 14 laps.
I am very pleased with handling of the 966 car particularly on our low to medium grip track. The car is so balanced & predictable it is relatively easy for average driver like myself to be very competitive. I believe this is a strong selling point because it enables average driver to move up a level in qualifying. No doubt top drivers will also record faster times with the 966 but I am certain average drivers will gain the most from the new...

I won the first south german race in Bamberg for the german championship!
We arrived Friday evening on the the fast track, but unfortunately the whole Saturday was raining and we coudn’t test anything!
On Sundaymorning it was try but very foggy, the qualification start 8.30 o clock. My first heats were not perfect, because the grip was not so good and the track was also on one corner a little wet, but on my last qualification i took the second position and so i went directly in the final…
First 4 after qualification in 1/8:
1. Robin D’hondt
2. Sabrina Lechner, Serpent
3. Dominik...

Mark Green made an impressive TQ at the UK Nats at Brooklands with his Serpent 966 with Pete Hastings in 3rd also with Serpent 966.
In the final Green went away like a rocket with 966, pulling out a big lead. A battery-failure cost him a sure win. More luck at the Dutch GP we hope.
Pete Hasting took the honours with Serpent 966 with 2008 National Champ Tim Wood with Serpent in 2nd and Diver in 3rd.
A total of 5 Serpent in the final and 4 Mega powered cars a good race for Serpent TeamUK !
More reports and set-ups lateron.
