Dear Racers
May is always the month of the first big international race. It is the European championship for “B”-license drivers. Last years winner Steven Cuypers (with a 950-R) has an A-license in the meantime, something that happens to all winners of this championship.
This year’s race was held on the track of Aulney sous Bois, very close to the airport of Paris and next to a real size track.
CRISTIANI WINS EUROS WITH SERPENT 960 (30/05/2006)

Promising young Italian r/c talent Andrea Cristiani driving a Serpent 960 has clinched the 2006 1/8th European B Championships. Held at the Aulney sous Bois circuit in France, the result gives Serpent back to back European B titles following Steven Cuypers 2005 victory.
Driving his Max powered 960, Cristiani lay down his intentions from the very start of the week long event, which attracted 123 entries, topping the time sheets from day 2.
Setting a TQ of 18 laps in 5 minute and 12 seconds to claim pole for the final, he was a comfortable 4 seconds faster than his nearest rival...

The Austrian Serpent Workshop held recently at the track of SFMAV in Nussdorf proved a big success with the event and organisers receiving an overwhelming thumbs up from all those who attended.

New track layout, and new track surface at Sintra. Very fast outside part of the track with 4 straights and 2 turns full throttle, that made fuel consumption almost impossible to reach the 5 minutes in the heats. And then very slow inside part, making it difficult to set the transmission on the car. The surface, made of a very closed tarmac, had almost no tyre wear, with a 37 shore set running for lots of time. With lots of grip the track was very smooth with no bumps at all.
Ricardo Nogueira was the best Serpent driver after the heats with the 2nd place mark. João Sousa placed his Serpent...

Andrea (I) (S960/Max) continued his superb performance also during the sunday finals. He finished a superb race 3 laps ahead of 2nd place Bouche (F) and 3d Pesenti (CH).

Great show from Andrea Christiani with his Serpent 960/Max on pole in the 2006 EC-B in France. With 18 laps in 5.12 he was quite a bit faster than 2nd man Guillot with 5.16.
All 4 direct finalist made 18 laps.
Jordy Blok (S960/Mega ZX DSII) in 5th position was in a 2nd place looking at his laptimes in the 2nd qualifier, but a small error in the last part cost him deerly. He will need to do very well in the semi on sunday. Also Ben Jamini from Holland with S960/ZX DSII was performing well and set an 8th qualifying position. It is a good test for him, as he wll race full scale in the USA...

Even after a incident with my car at the begining of the race I manage to win .Vinicius Silva is back racing after 3 year away from the tracks impressive performance, he bit the record from the Carrefour Track in Jundiaí 14.016seg ,he got the 2nd place .
