June 10th saw a healthy entry of 235mm cars running along side the 1:10 200mm IC touring car class at the impressive flowing multilevel track of the Cotswold club, situated on Kemble air field. Saturday and Sunday was blessed with glorious sunshine letting the 235mm cars show their true potential.

Glyn Beal took an impressive TQ spot with the hope of rescuing his championship title. Chasing him all day was 12-year-old Michael Ruddock.
 
At the start of the 30 minute A final Glyn had an engine cut and fell a couple of laps back, this allowed the pack to move away lead by young Serpent 835 racer...

Nam wins Round 2 of Korean Serpent Cup (13/06/2007)

Nam Sangjoon was in action over the weekend at the second round Serpent Korea Nitro Cup and the young charger took a convincing 1:8 victory.

Racing his Mega MF powered Serpent 960 the 18-year-old dominated the final winning by a massive 8 lap margin and moves to the top of the standings after 2 of the 5 scheduled rounds in the popular Series.

Over the weekend Team Serpent USA racer DJ Apolaro took victory in the Capital Classic Race and here is his report from the prestigous event -

This weekend we saw the 1st annual Capital Classic Race at the world class 301 race track in Maryland. All the main manufactures send their best to claim the title for this prestigious event. I arrived to the track on Thursday at around 3pm. The rest of the team arrived 1 day earlier to get started on the testing and setups. I started with our normal set up at the beginning and the car felt pretty good. I made some roll center changes to get more rotation...

Rob Kuijper reports in the 3rd Round of the Dutch 1:8 National Championship.

Under great weather conditions the 3rd round of the Dutch Championship was held at the Real 80 track in Ironings. During practice on Saturday, we found a set up that worked on the bumpy surface, and we concentrated on the tyre wear situation, with the surface of the track being hard on the tyres. Saturday ended in spectacular style with a big Thunderstorm, so all grip laid down was flushed away again....

SDD's Branson continues A Final performances (12/06/2007)

Kyle Branson maintained his impressive run of A Final appearances in the BRCA British 1:10 National Championship over the weekend by finishing 6th in the fourth round at Cotswold.

Qualifying his Mega MF powered Serpent 720 8th fastest of the 80 competitors who travelled to the Gloucestershire, the 13-year-old drove a strong final making up to places to finish a fine 6th while mentor Mark Green took his 720 to victory.

Currently 2nd in the National Standings, Kyle's next championship encounter takes him to the Brooklands track on July 1st where last year he finished on the podium.

Belgium success for Cuypers (11/06/2007)

Serpent factory driver and reigning Belgian 1:8 National Champion Steven Cuypers took his first win of the 2007 Championship over the weekend when he placed 1st in the 3rd round held at the Rumst track.

Having TQ'd for the opening two rounds of the championship only to suffer badluck in the finals, Cuypers was pipped to the top place on the time sheets in qualifying by fellow Serpent racer and Round 1 winner Robin D'Hondt.

In the final the pairing ran just metres apart in the same order as they started until 20 minutes into the race when D'Hondt was to suffer the badluck with a rear belt...

Hat trick for Sotiropoulos in Greek Nationals (10/06/2007)

Greek team Serpent driver Giannis Sotiropoulos completed a hat trick of National Championship victories over the weekend when he took victory in the third Round of the Greek 1:8 Championship.

Racing for the first time this season at the Patra track, Sotiropoulos qualified his Mega MF powered Serpent 960 P2 for the A Final but it took just a few laps for him to take the lead of the race and criuse home to a 3 lap winning margin. The result sees the current National Champion remain unbeaten this year.

In the B Final it was also an impressive victory for John Fokianos who steered his Serpent...

Mark Green on the top step of the podium at Cotswold

Green continues winning form in 1:10 (10/06/2007)

Fresh from winning his fourth straight win in the BRCA 1:8 British National Championship last weekend, Mark Green was winning again yesterday at Round 4 of the 1:10 200mm National Championship.

Racing at the Cotswold Model Car Club track in Gloucestershire, the Round 1 winner used his 720/Mega combination to good effect to take victory ahead of defending champion Darren Johnson.

Despite missing the third round of the championship, the factory Serpent driver has two wins and a second to his credit in 1:10 putting him in with a very strong chance of completing a championship double this year...
