720 WINS ON SOUTH AFRICAN DEBUT (05/09/2006)

Serpent’s new 720 continued it impressive list of debut achievements when Mike Wiseman steered the new Rene Cornella designed 1:10 car to victory in the penultimate round of the South African National Championships at Durban.



With the new car only arriving in South Africa just days before the event, drivers had little time to get to grips with their new packages but as soon as the new cars hit the track they were making an impression producing new lap record times despite the lack of local track time.

Competitors at the 2006 Dutch Xray Challenge held at RACO 2000

2006 DUTCH XRAY CHALLENGE (05/09/2006)

The Dutch Xray Challenge took place at RACO 2000 in Utrecht on Sunday and although rain greeted competitors as they arrived this didn't dampen their enthusiasm to go racing.

Organised by Serpent Benelux, the event had classes for 190mm Stock, 190mm Modified and 1:12 T1M cars, with each driver taking part in 5 point scoring races. The best 4 of which counted towards the final standings.

Jilles Groskamp was on hand to provide technical support and also proved very useful at clearing standing water from the track.

In afternoon the track began to dry and in the end victories went to Nick Joosens...

SERPENT SUPPORT 2006 WORLDS DOWN UNDER (30/08/2006)

Serpent Motorsport are pleased to be a sponsor of the 2006 IFMAR 1/10th 200mm On-Road World Championship which take place from September 7th to September 17th in Brisbane, Australia.


Being hosted by the Queensland Radio Circuit Car Racing Association, the Dutch competition rc car manufacturer will as usual send its top drivers to this prestigious event.


The event which will use the 285 metre long England Park Raceway track and has attracted 133 entries from 23 countries.

Irish driver Ian Campbell took pole at Halifax

SERPENT DOMINATE LATEST 1:8 BRCA ENCOUNTER (30/08/2006)

Serpent drivers dominated the seventh round of the BRCA National 1:8th Championships in Halifax, England over the weekend with Ian Campbell TQ'ing for the event and Gareth Bell taking the win.


Irish driver Campbell, a regular in the British Championship, used his 960 to good effect in qualifying to top the time sheets and secure pole for the A final.


Unfortunately young Campbell, 3rd in the previous round at Crystal Palace, was unable to convert his P1 starting position into victory as engine problems forced his into retirement.

HUNGARIAN SERPENT SERIES UPDATE (29/08/2006)

The fifth round of the Hungarian Serpent Series took place recently at Dorog and it was Gergő Timár (1:8) and Péter Takács (1:10) who took top honours.

For Timár, who beat previous round winner Viktor Juhász, the event was his second victory of the year and a result that gives him a 3 point lead at the top of the standings.

In the 1:10 Series Péter Takács maintained his very impressive unbeaten record of five straight wins. Such a dominant performance gives the driver from Szombathely a very healthy 108 point lead in the Series.

Clive Connolly made it back to back wins for the Serpent 960

TEAM SERPENT SCORE PODIUM DOUBLE IN IRELAND (29/08/2006)

Team Serpent Ireland enjoyed another very competitive outing in the latest round of the Irish National Championship over the weekend with three of their drivers securing podium placings.



1:8 driver Clive Connolly, winner of the previous round, was once again the man to beat at the St. Annes Park circuit. Fastest in qualifying, Connolly TQ'd his 960 for the 30 minute A final. Capitalising on his pole position, Connolly lead from start to finish and extend his lead in the chamopionship.



Also on the podium for Team Serpent, finishing 3rd, was Round 1 winner Darragh Fox. Dean Lacey...

With the biggest entry for a Euro's,around 140 drivers this meeting would be run over a whole week starting on monday with control practise,but the weather decided to put stop to everyone's fun and most left the track to hope for better weather.

Tuesday.

Arrive to track and its dry so got a good days testing,but with 140 drivers we were limted to 4 10min runs,so i started with the set up from the GP,the car felt good right away,the rear a little loose but still a good feeling from the car,i added a little more rear toe in and now the car was really good.I also tried gearing going from 17/59...

Race winner Samuel Chiu with his 720

720 WINS CHINESE NATIONALS (22/08/2006)

Serpent's 720 took victory in the Chinese National Championships recently in Guilin.


Having TQ'd his Mega MF powered 720 Samuel Chiu went on to convert his number one starting position into a superb victory.


A total of four Serpent 720 made the A final.  The 5 day event also saw Serpent's Beijing Team win the Best Team in China award.
