The nice track in Oslo Norway

On the first weekend of July most of the top drivers from Sweden, Denmark and Norway gathered for a Nordic battle in Oslo (no drivers from Finland). Most of you guys who are familiar with the Virtual RC game have probably played this track once or twice. The track is located very nice up on a hill with a great view over the Olso fjord (the see going into Oslo city).

DORAN AND CONNOLLY GIVE SERPENT IRISH CLEAN SWEEP (19/07/2006)

In the latest round of the Irish National Championship held at St Anne’s Park in Dublin, Serpent completed a clean sweep winning both the 1:10th and 1:8th categories. The event was a re-run of Round 2 which was rained off earlier in the year.



Driving his Mega powered 710, former Irish 1:8th National Champion Eoin Doran stormed to victory in the 1:10th category having started from 3rd on the grid.



In the 1:8th class Serpent newcomer Clive Connolly made great use of his 960 to dominate the event. Setting TQ in the heats he went on to set the fastest lap of the 30 minute final to...

The official hotel & HQ for the 2006 Serpent Nations Cup is the Amazónia Lisboa Hotel (http://www.amazoniahoteis.com/gca/?id=69) which is within five blocks of Lisbon's central boulevard (Avenida da Liberdade). For the event the hotel is offering competitors the following special room rates:

· Single room - 60,00 Euros
· Double/Twin room - 69,00 Euros

Serpent has provisionally booked 50 rooms at the hotel for the event so teams can make reservations via Serpent ( oisin@serpent.com ). To avoid the same problems as last year caused by many teams booking at the last minute we would ask you...

The Serpent Nations Cup is an end of season team event in which Serpent drivers race for their country and the title of ‘Nations Cup’ Champions.  



2006 is the second running of the event that was last year won by Great Britain following a titanic battle with host nation Team Spain



Where - Lisbon, Portugal (Monsanto Circuit)



When - 14/15 October 2006



Who - The Serpent Nations Cup is organised by Serpent Motorsport and will cater for Serpent 1/8th scale cars.

Sotiropoulos' winning Serpent 960/Mega

SOTIROPOULOS WINS AGAIN (19/07/2006)

RC Microracing Team driver Giannis Sotiropoulos took another ELME Greek National Championship win over the weekend when he steered his Serpent 960 Mega combination to a convincing victory at the new Patra circuit.


The first race at the superb new race facility, Sotiropoulos won the event by a margin of 8 laps and was joined in the final by another five Serpent 960s.


Serpent were also the major force in the B final with 8 cars in the race two of which, driven by Giannis Fokianos and Takis Papadopoulos, secured podium placings.

Serpent drivers at the superb new Patra circuit

ANASTASIADIS BECOMES LATEST GREEK SERIES WINNER (19/07/2006)

The fourth round of the Greek Serpent Series travelled to the new Patra circuit over the weekend and once again the competitive Series produced a new winner, Kiriakos Anastasiadis becoming the fourth different winner of the season.


Anastasiadis' win moves him to the top of the standings by a single point over 2005 Series Champion Mimis Papadopoulos who could only manage 5th on this occassion. Joining Anastasiadis on the podium was Vagelis Papachristos, winner of Round 2, and Gustav Penka who held off the challenge of his father Thomas to claim his first top three finish.

1/8th Podium

AUSTRIAN SERPENT SERIES UPDATE (18/07/2006)

The third round of the Austrian Serpent Series took place recently in Tomlin, Slovenian, and the event produced three new race winners.


In the 1/10th Touring Car class local driver Nejc Marcic took victory while in the 1/10th 235mm category Zsolt Horvath from Hungary secured top honours.


In the 1/8th class it was another local, Nejc Mihelic, who took the top place on the podium.


One of the biggest of this year's Serpent Series having so far attracted 55 drivers, the Austrian Serpent Series now travels to Sollenau in Austria for the penultimate round on August 13.

The Cervignano track in Italy hosted Round 2 of the Slovenian Serpent Series

TRATNIK AND FARIELLO TAKE SLOVENIAN SERIES WINS (18/07/2006)

Sunshine and very high temperatures greeted competitors from the Slovenian Serpent Series when it travelled to Cervignano track in Italy recently for its second round. The 23 drivers had to deal with 35°C heat on a track that is very challenging and technical.


In the 1/8th Series pole position was secured by last year's Junior Series champion Nejc Mihelič (960/JP) with Series newcomer Izidor Tratnik (950R/MAX) lining up alongside him on the front row.
